European Qualifications Framework in Timber Construction
Knowledge, Skills & Competence
The use of timber in construction has been an important element of European building culture for centuries. It is based on knowledge, skills, and competences as well as committed businesses and companies.
At the same time, it is evident that vocational training systems and training levels in European timber construction are still characterized by major differences across Europe. This situation is historically determined and partly due to economic conditions.
Against this background, Timber Construction Europe, the umbrella organization of the European carpentry trade, launched measures in 2020 to develop a European Qualifications Framework in Timber Construction (EQF-Timber).
TimberVetProof
The framework describing qualifications in modern European timber construction is now available as the digital validation and development tool TimberVetProof. In this form, it opens up numerous possibilities for determining and specifically developing the qualification status of employees, companies, training centers, and national vocational training systems across Europe.
Preparation for Validation
For interested parties, the execution of validation and development work can be implemented free of charge in simple work processes. We recommend preparing for the examination procedures in the following steps:
01
Structure & Content
First, familiarize yourself with the structure and content of the EQF-Timber.
03
Registration
Register on the examination portal and create your individual profile.
The project “Development of a European Qualifications Framework in Timber Construction (EQF-Timber)” was supported by funds from European and Swiss funding programs:
